Let's Choose to Stop the Anger & Hate

I make it my policy to avoid politics on this blog - I have people from all parties who read grandma's cookie jar - all are welcome to do so.

But, the violence in Charlottesville breaks my heart. I would like to call upon you to take the stand to see others, not by some political party, but as people. Family, friends, people you know, people who are family and friends of others.

Teach the children you love to do the same. If we do not, if we label others by a political party - and to make our point more soundly we tag them as the most extreme and hateful elements of a party, we will end up with a country ruled by hate. The violence of the past day will continue.

And for the record, the hate and violence we saw is never okay. The groups - such as the Nazis - who stand for this are not the way we as Americans should identify ourselves. We all need to choose to stop the hate. Stop the anger. Stop the violence. We need to remember others are people - just like us. People with family and friends People who are just as disgusted by the hate and anger as we are.

And my thoughts and prayers are with those who lost someone they loved to this violence and those who were injured. My heart aches for you.
