2017 Christmas Gift Review & Giveaway - November 5, 2017 - Ally-Saurus & the Very Bossy Monster

Last Summer I was invited to review a new book about a little girl who likes to pretend she is a dinosaur and her friends with equally wonderful imaginations. Since my grandsons have creative imaginations as well, I was very happy to say I'd participate in the review of Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster.

I held a giveaway for this book, but sadly the winner did not claim their prize. So, I decided to include it in my 2017 Christmas review and giveaways to give the book more exposure and honestly, it would absolutely make a wonderful gift for a child you love!

Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Author/Illustrator - Richard Torrey
Ages - 3-6

Favorite Features -
  • Fun, imaginative story
  • Creative illustrations - I love how the illustrations show what the children are imagining/pretending.
  • Great message about being bossy - and about how to respond kindly with bossy friends . . . or siblings!
Sterling Children's Books said; "What happens when a bossy new girl tries to make everyone play by her rules? Ally-saurus is back—and ROARING louder than ever! Ally-saurus and her friends always have lots of fun playing pretend. They stomp, they roar, they dance, each in their own way. But new girl Maddie wants everyone to play by HER rules. 'Monsters can’t be dinosaurs or dancers,' she insists. Worst of all, she won’t let little Petey have his teddy bear! Can Ally-saurus help Maddie understand bossiness is no fun at all?  With charm and humor, Richard Torrey teaches a gentle lesson in respecting others . . . and playing nice."

I found Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster to be a fun story with a great message - both for those who tend to be bossy and for those who have bossy people in their lives. Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster is a book children will want to read and have read to them - and a book we will want to read to the children we love as well. I look forward to more "Ally-saurus" books!

I'm very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me one copy of Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only). If you are over the age of 18 and would like to enter this drawing for one Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster- which will be on November 5, 2017, please comment below to tell me what your grandchildren/children like to pretend they are when they play . . . my grandsons are often Super-heroes and it is always fun to see who they are "saving" and what they are saving them from!

In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win one Ally-saurus & the Very Bossy Monster and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!
