Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies & grandma's cookie jar Cookie Recipe Contest!

Yesterday when my youngest grandson was at my house, I made cookies - chocolate chip, peanutbutter cookies . . . one of my family's favorites. When my son and two other grandsons arrived, they went straight to the cookies . . . their smiles told me they approved!

Today I want to share the recipe which put such wonderful smiles on their faces, and announce a grandma's cookie jar cookie recipe contest . . . yes, I'm having a cookie recipe contest with a truly appropriate and wonderful prize!

First, my cookie recipe!
  • 1 stick of softened butter
  • 1/2 cup peanutbutter
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream all ingredients together - mix until fluffy!
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Add to creamed mixture then drop by the spoonfuls onto ungreased pan. Bake at 375 for seven or eight minutes (my family prefers soft cookies). Cool on a rack and enjoy!

I'm very happy to say Personalization Mall is making available one of their photo cookie jars as the prize for this cookie recipe contest! Yes, one person who submits the winning recipe will be able to choose from their five cookie jar designs, add their own photos and receive a very special cookie jar as their prize! (You will find them at this link.) Personalization Mall allowed me to submit photos of my grandsons for a special cookie jar - which I will review as soon as it arrives.

1- 1/8 cups of unbleached white flour
    ½ teaspoon of baking soda
    1 stick of butter, softened
½ cup of peanut butter, crunchy
½ cup of dark brown sugar

    1/3 cup of chopped pecans
1 cup of dark chocolate (I use Ghiradelli or Dove) cut into chunks

    Directions:
Heat oven to 325 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together butter, peanut butter and brown sugar in kitchenaid stand mixer using flat beater. Add egg and vanilla until well blended. Sift together flour and baking soda and blend into rest of mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks and pecans by hand.
Using a 1 inch mini ice cream scoop, place 1 inch dough scoops onto parchment paper 2 inches apart. Using your fingers flatten dough into circles.
Bake for 12-14 minutes until completely cooked through.
Take out of oven and let rest 1 minute. Then cool completely on racks.
