Special Review & Giveaway - November 2, 2017 - Frankenbunny

Two days ago I was asked by Sterling Children's Books to review a new book; it arrived today. I know I already posted a review/giveaway earlier today, but I have quite a few to get through before the end of the month, so I thought I'd go ahead and post it. This book is a fun story and while the title - Frankenbunny - might make you think it was a book for this time of year, the story is one which goes well any time of year!

Frankenbunny
Author - Jill Esbaum
Illustrator - Alice Brereton
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 4-7

Favorite Features -
  • Fun story which any younger sibling may discover they are able to relate to the plight of Spencer.
  • Fun illustrations.
  • Provides an excellent opportunity for families to talk about being brave, getting along, treating each other the best way possible and always telling the truth.
Sterling Children's Books says; "'You know monsters aren’t real, right?' Brave is easy in the sunshine. Brave is easy near Papa. But can Spencer the Bunny learn to be brave ALL the time—even when his big brothers try their best to scare him? Spencer the Bunny’s big brothers ALWAYS frighten him with scary monster stories. And the most terrifying beast of all is Frankenbunny, with his crusty fangs, flashing red eyes, and ginormous paws. But when Spencer discovers his brothers made the whole thing up, he hatches a plan to turn the tables on them and conquer his own fears . . . forever. Any child who has ever worried about a monster in the closet or felt scared in the dark will love this humorous story about learning to be brave."

I could totally do without page with the spiders, but found Frankenbunny an enjoyable read and one I'm quite sure my grandsons will put with their favorite books. Not only is the story fun, but reading it is a blast - so many places to put emphasis and build suspense . . . highly entertaining and just the type of book this grandma enjoys reading to her three, sweet grandsons!

I am so happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me Frankenbunny for me to review, but they are making one available for me to give away (USA only). If you are over the age of 18 and would like to enter this drawing for Frankenbunny which will be on November 2, 2017,  please comment below to tell who you think might enjoy a book like Frankenbunny - I think my youngest grandson will like this one the most.

In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win Frankenbunny and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!
