grandma's cookbook - Ramen-Like-Noodles

The other day my grandsons told me they like ramen noodles. They are at my house today, so I thought I'd fix ramen noodles for lunch. No, not those little dry packages of ramen noodles . . . have you ever read the ingredients on a package of ramen noodles? No, I'm not feeding them packaged ramen noodles.

I have a Kitchenaid mixer, but not the attachments to make my own ramen noodles and did not have a chance to get to the store to buy actual ramen noodles, so I looked on-line and found a way to turn angel hair spaghetti into ramen-like noodles! It involves lots of boiling water and a tablespoon of baking soda! You will find the instructions at this link.

I also noticed there were quite a few recipes for ways to prepare a meal using ramen noodles - from meatballs, to chicken, to bacon, to veggies, so I'm cooking some chicken, which I'll cut into pieces, cooking bacon, some veggies and making some gravy. I'll put all these along with cheese and spices on the table and then each person may add what they like to their ramen-like noodles at our top-your-own-ramen-type-noodle-lunch!

I think it will add an element of fun and creativity to what will also hopefully be a tasty lunch!

Do you fix ramen noodles? If so, what do you do with the noodles?
