just for fun - More Silly State Laws - New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon and Pennsylvania

This week I'm taking a moment each day to laugh at some of the silly laws - which are still actual laws - from each state in our country . . . today we will see some silly laws from New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon and Pennsylvania, so get ready to laugh! Each of these laws are still laws . . . some do make sense, others will just leave you scratching your head, wondering why anyone ever thought they had a need for such a law in the first place! (I found the silly laws at this link.)
  • New York . . . Slippers are not to be worn after 10pm.
  • New Mexico . . . State officials ordered 400 sexually explicit words to be removed from Romeo & Juliet.
  • North Carolina . . . Elephants may not be used to plow cotton fields.
  • North Dakota . . . It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep with your shoes on.
  • Ohio . . . It is illegal to get a fish drunk.
  • Oklahoma . . . It is illegal to wrestle a bear.
  • Oregon . . . It is illegal to hunt in a cemetery.
  • Pennsylvania . . . It is illegal to tell a fortune teller where to dig for buried treasure.
So, which of these laws did you find to be the funniest? I have to say the law from New York strikes me as funny - I did shake my head when I read it.

Enjoy . . . and share with your grandchildren; I know my grandsons will enjoy hearing these silly laws!
