"Listen" and "Respond"

"Listen" and "Respond". Yes, we as grandmas (and grandpas and parents, too) need to be people who "Listen" and "Respond" appropriately to the children we love. This is called being kind. This is called love and this makes a difference - a huge difference in the lives of these children. We must model this kindness; this love to them every day, on purpose.

And, we need to be consistent when it comes to helping them learn to do the same. We need to help them learn to "Listen" to themselves, to others and yes, to God and help them learn what it means to "respond" in helpful and appropriate ways. This is what matters and it is how they will feel fulfilled and experience joy!

When it comes down to it, this is basically living out Matthew 22:36-40 - "Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”"

Love God with our all and love others - let's model this to the children we love and help them learn to do the same!
