Today, Good Friday, is the day we remember Jesus on the cross. He willingly took our place; the innocent for the guilty, so we could be forgiven and receive God's grace. Take time today to remember and thank Jesus for what He did for you.
And share the message of the cross with your grandchildren. Consider this fun activity which will help them understand what it is all about. Give each grandchildren a plastic egg - light color or white is best - and a watercolor marker. Tell them to mark on the egg for each time they have been unkind or disobeyed or did something they know they should not have done in the last week. Explain these things are sin as sin is when we do anything wrong.
Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and talk about how Jesus would not be able to make even one mark on His egg, because He never did anything wrong; He never sinned.
Have your grandchildren take water and wash their egg - the marks should wash away. Talk about how when we believe and ask Him for forgiveness, Jesus' death and resurrection takes away our sins - they are gone! Lead your grandchildren in thanking Jesus for His great love and grace!
