Oh yes, as parents we care about what happens with our sons and daughters (and in-laws, too) and as grandparents we care about what happens with our grandchildren. God made it this way and He planned for this to be the primary way our faith is handed down to the generations who follow us.
God put it this way in Deuteronomy 4:9 - Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
And in Psalms 100:5 - For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
