Father God,
As we approach this Memorial Day weekend, we give thanks for those brave men and women who offered the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). We pray we never take their sacrifice, nor our freedoms, for granted.
We offer our humble thanks and pray for the physical, emotion and spiritual health and well-being of those who presently serve in our Armed Forces. Let them find refuge in You, so “no harm will overtake (them); no disaster will come near (their) tents” (Psalm 91:9-10).
We pray for the integrity of their marriages and families. Protect their spouses and children from fear, loneliness, depression and separation anxiety, especially during times of deployment. Sustain them with a strong support system, which includes loving and intentional grandparents.
In Christ’s Name,
Amen.
