As I thought about this the other day, I realized he has a Children's Bible. An actual Bible, yes, but a Bible designed for children with illustrations on the covers and features inside to help children read and understand the Bible. I especially like two of the Children's Bibles he has - the Investigator's Bible and the Children's Quest Bible, but they are Bibles for children and what new Middle Schooler wants to bring a Children's Bible to church with them?
So, I found some Bibles for teens and Zondervan kindly sent them to me for review - today I'm very happy to let you know about them.

NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for Teen Girls
This Bible is a wonderful gift for the girl - or adult - who enjoys coloring and art. This Bible has the unique in-text features to help you personalize and express your love for God's Word. It makes a truly lovely gift.
Children's Day is the second Sunday of June and any of these Bibles would make wonderful gifts for your new teen grandchildren, as well as grandchildren who have been teens for years. Consider taking time to underline some of your favorite verses and write a few notes to your grandchildren before you give it to them. Decades ago, I had a Mother's Bible in which I underlined and wrote notes for my daughter - the opportunity of presenting your grandchildren with a special Bible gives you a moment to add a special touch and hand down the faith in a personal and valuable way. I know some people who underline and write notes in Bibles for their grandchildren really "go to town" with it - which you could, but their Poppa and I are just selecting some favorite verses and are writing just a few notes as we want the Bibles we give them to be their Bibles. We want the boys to be encouraged to underline meaningful verses and write their own notes - to make them their Bibles. Yes, there will be a few underlined verses and a few notes from us, and I believe they will make the Bibles special and meaningful and allow us to hand down faith far into the future, but the Bibles will be for our grandsons and I want there to be room in them for the boys to make the Bibles their own.
But, whether you "go to town with it", or just highlight special verses and write a few notes, consider using the opportunity of giving your grandchildren a study Bible a moment where you are able to hand down faith in a personal and particularly meaningful way.
