Update & Thank You

I know many of you have been praying for my family, friends and the community of the Redding California/Shasta County area - thank you. Just a quick update for you . . . The fire has grown to more than 89,000 acres - 5% contained, more than 40,000 people have been evacuated, more than 500 homes have been burned to the ground, more than 3500 firefighters are there battling this fire. The fire crossed the Sacramento River, there have been firenados and winds 75 mph. Two firefighters and a grandma and two young children have died. My family has evacuated three times as the fire changes direction and the place they went is no longer safe, but so far my family is safe and their homes are standing.

The authorities do not expect to have this fire under control for days, so your continued prayers are much appreciated.
