Cooking = Family Memories to Treasure

What do you remember from when you were a child? Which family memories stand out to you when you think about being young? For me, I remember times when my family got together . . . there were always amazing things to eat as my family had excellent cooks! My grandmas and my mom could all cook! There are few things in life as wonderful as time spent with family . . . when you are able to add in tasty things to eat . . . well, it is the "cherry on top"!

When we gather family together, now we are the grandmas, we are able to help create these same wonderful memories for our grandchildren - and our grown children, too!

When I think about all those family gatherings, one of my favorite memories is of thanksgiving with all the trimmings and especially my mom's apple pie . . . it is absolutely second to none! She often put a crumble top on top . . . my favorite way to have an apple pie! Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to a slice of warm-from-the-oven crumble-top apple pie and you have a dessert fit for kings!

What do you think of when you think of the family gatherings of your childhood?

  1. The food was so good! My grandma was known for her chocolate cream pie. We've all tried to replicate it but can't, she didn't use a recipe.
