2019 Spring Gift Review & Giveaway - From Me to You

I was recently invited to review a couple new books from Harvest House and today am happy to share them with you - and announce a giveaway as well. One of the thigns we do to hand down faith to our grandchildren and children is build our relationship with them. One way we do this is by having meaningful conversations together. These two new books - From Me to You (Daughter): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Daughter and From Me to You (Son): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Son, are designed to do this.

From Me to You (Daughter): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Daughter
From Me to You (Son): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Son
Authors - Mark & Susan Merrill
Publisher - Harvest House

Favorite Features -

  • Designed to provide opportunities for parents/grandparents to connect and have meaningful conversations with the children they love.
  • Completed journals are certain to be a cherished reminder of both the conversations with parents/grandparents and their love.
  • You could use them as a way to start conversations with more than one child - ask a question at dinner or before bed, pass the book and let everyone record their response and enjoy the conversations you have together.
Harvest House says; "Amid the flurry of family life, communication may become all about daily survival, leaving little room for the kind of talk which draws you and your daughter/son closer together. Are you looking for more opportunities for meaningful moments with your child? This unique conversation journal provides a simple, straightforward way to

  • ask questions to prompt important conversations with your daughter/son which might not otherwise occur
  • encourage her/him with positive words she/he is able to read over and over
  • connect with her/him—and not feel guilty for missing those opportunities
  • record her/his thoughts in a keepsake journal
  • learn what she/he has been thinking on a deeper level
  • mentor her/him as she/he learns to express herself/himself through writing
  • journal your own thoughts—a great life habit you may start now

As you and your daughter/son (grandchildren) pass this journal back and forth, you’ll experience connecting conversations, a renewed relationship and joy-filled journaling. Get started today!"

I found the journals to have many questions which are certain to start meaningful conversations - I thought some of the questions were ones I would probably just skip, or replace with a question of my own. But, I do think most of the questions in the books are solid questions and look forward to asking my grandsons, recording our answers and the conversations they will generate.

I am so happy to say, as I mentioned above, not only did Harvest House send me From Me to You (Daughter): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Daughter and From Me to You (Son): A Conversation Journal for You and Your Son for review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only). 1. I would use this with one child. I have both a son and daughter, so either of these would be perfect for me.
