At all times, but especially now with covid changing so much about how our churches connect with families/ children, if we have not already done so, we need to be focused upon asking the leaders in our churches to equip parents/ grandparents so they are able to hand down the faith and teach the "whys" - why we are able to believe God is real and trust Him with confidence - at home. In most cases, if churches do not step up to equip and encourage parents and grandparents when it comes to handing down the faith and teaching the "whys" for a confident faith, this is something they will leave to the church. It isn't because parents and grandparents don't want to do this - most often it is because they do not know how to engage the children they love and connect with them in meaningful and memorable ways. So, if they are not handing down the faith and teaching the "whys", and the children they love are not able to go to church, then there has been five months since they were able to be involved in at least learning what to believe. Five months.Now is the time for churches to step up and equip parents and grandparents, so they are able to do what God planned for them to do - be the primary people who teach the Bible and equip the children they love with a confident faith as they share with them the "whys" for their faith. - As a church, they many invite families to discover and learn about the same animal the same week - one week a month and make the book last for a full year, or every other week, making it last two quarters, or every week, making the book last for 12 weeks.
- Whatever schedule they set for working your way through the book as a church and individual families, they may connect throughout the week to ask families what they found the most interesting, for photos of how their project went, and to share ideas/results.
- Find additional ideas for activities/questions they could email to families to extend the fun and learning.
