just for fun - Friday is the, "Great American Grump Out" Day!

Heads up! This Friday, May 7th is a special day! If you have been reading grandma's cookie jar for very long, you know I like to share with you silly holidays and special days . . . after all, when it is chocolate day, or pie day, or cookie day, or donut day, or ice cream day, who wouldn't want to celebrate???!!!

Well, the special day for Friday, May 7th made me smile, so I thought I'd go ahead and share it with you today, so you have time to plan to celebrate . . . it is the, "Great American Grump Out" day!

On-line it says, "The Grump Out asked sour pusses to suck it up and refrain from getting their grump on -- at least for 24 hours. This includes no grumping, no frowning, no grousing, complaining, punching, slapping, hitting or killing . . . FOR  ONE WHOLE DAY. On this day you will knock it off with your grouchy thing and put a lid on it --- just for 24 hours. (It's not for a lifetime, just a mere 24 hours. If you get your 8 hours of sleep it means you only have to go for 16 hours.) After that you can go back to your old self again."

They also gave the following:

Grump Out goals:
  1. To help people better understand the connection between negative attitudes, stress and health.
  2. To see America give themselves permission to be friendly, playful, supportive and loving for just one day.
  3. To lighten up our planet and reduce unhealthy stress through humor.
  4. To have FUN!
Sounds like a great idea to me, so grab your grandchildren and let's celebrate, "The Great American Grump Out Day" . . . not just Friday, but every day! After all, we want our grandchildren, children, family, friends, neighbors, people we run into as we go through our day, etc, to see us as people filled with joy; not grumpy people! Let's model for our grandchildren what it means to be joyful, not grumpy! Enjoy!
