Be the Grandparents/Parents - Put Love Into Action

What I write today is difficult - I know some people will not like what they read, but it is necessary. Whether you like what I'm writing, or not, please read it all.

Throughout our country, and around the world, people like you and I, maybe you and I, have had to say "good-by" to people we love in the last year - maybe due to covid, maybe to some other cause. But, we do not have to sit back and wait and see if we will lose any more people we love to covid - we are able to protect ourselves, and the ones we love, by getting the covid shot.

I know some of you do not like reading this, but please read on.

I lost my dad last year - not due to covid - but I most certainly do not want to see my family go through the loss of any more family members - especially due to covid since a vaccine is available.

I will not be the one who puts my family through more loss - I got my shot. I'm so happy to be able to write how more of my family members got their shots - although I am very sad to say not all have made the choice to do so. We are waiting for the youngest family members to be able to get their shots - and we are committed to doing what we must to protect them.

We get our shots to protect the ones we love - from loss and from covid. This is putting our love into action. This is being the grandparents/parents. This is modeling responsible and loving behavior.

Please, if you are a grandparent/parent, please get your shot. Please do not put your family through loss or risk exposing them to covid. Please get your shot and ask the ones you love to follow your example and do the same.
