grandma's cookbook - French Baguettes

My family enjoys homemade bread, so whenever I make it, they are happy! A couple years ago my daughter-in-law gave me a French baguette pan, and I found a great recipe I could use with it. Today I’m sharing it with you, because even if you do not have a French baguette pan, you can make this bread in a little over an hour and it is a recipe your family will love!

You will find the recipe at this link – I change it a little in the following ways . . .

     1.  I use three cups of flour and one cup of whole wheat flour.
     2.  I do not do the part with the ice cube – my family loves a nice, soft crust on their French baguettes . . . I put a little butter on the top of the loaves when they come out of the oven.

This is all there is to it, but you can be certain your family will love it! (And, it is a simple and fun recipe to make with your grandchildren! Plus, since it makes two lovely baguettes, you could eat one and have your grandchildren take the other to a neighbor.)

Enjoy!
