just for fun - Silly State Laws - Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan and Minnesota

Today seems like a great day to laugh at some of the silly laws - which are still actual laws - from some of the States in our country . . . today we will see some silly laws from Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan and Minnesota, so get ready to laugh! Each of these laws are still laws . . . some do make sense, others will just leave you scratching your head, wondering why anyone ever thought they had a need for such a law in the first place! (I found the silly laws at this link.)

  • Kentucky . . . One may not dye a duckling blue and offer it for sale, unless more than six are for sale at once.
  • Louisiana . . . You can be fined $500 for sending a pizza order to someone's house without their knowledge.
  • Maryland . . . You will be fined $10 for wearing a sleeveless shirt in a public park.
  • Maine . . . It is illegal to keep Christmas decorations up after January 14th.
  • Massachusetts . . . It is illegal to own an explosive golf ball.
  • Michigan . . . It is illegal for a woman to cut her own hair without her husband's permission.
  • Minnesota . . . A person may not cross state lines with a duck on their head.
So, which of these laws did you find to be the funniest? While I do think the law about not crossing a state line with a duck on your head is funny, since I live in Michigan and I cut my own hair, I do find the law saying I can not do this without my hubby's permission - not really funny, but aggravating.

Enjoy . . . and share with your grandchildren; I know my grandsons will enjoy hearing these silly laws!
