Winter Fun - Frozen Ice Balloons!

It is finally getting cold enough for some special winter activities . . . yes, here in Michigan it typically is cold enough months ago, but I'm not complaining since I prefer  warmer winters! I do have a fun idea I found on Pinterest which required colder outdoor temps, so now I'm looking forward to the opportunity to try it with the boys!

Just follow this link for the details, but it is pretty simple - fill a balloon with water, add some food coloring, set outside until frozen then release the frozen ball from the balloon and have fun decorating outside your home with the colorful, frozen balls of ice! Enjoy!

When my oldest grandson was in First Grade they did this - each child brought home a balloon, which they filled with water, added food coloring and kept in their freezer for a few days. Then, on an appointed day, they all brought them back to school and decorated around the flag pole with their colorful ice balloons! Very fun!

I wonder if they might make a fun, colorful, frozen, somewhat lopsided bowling ball for winter ice bowling? :-)
