So I looked on Pinterest and found directions - which you'll find at this link with step-by-step directions for making the pillow - you basically cut away the lower portion of the t-shirt, cut corners away, and then cut in along the four edges to make ties which you then tie to make a pillow cover (you put the pillow between the fabric before you start tying, so when you finish, the pillow is complete.)
Now, I also think it would be fun to use white t-shirts, which you decorate with your grandchildren's handprints and/or photos (use acrylic paints and iron-on transfers you can print.) These pillows would make wonderful gifts . . . and your grandchildren could help make them. (Think Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts!)
Enjoy!
