crafting with grandma - Crochet a Nativity Set!

Funny Amigurumi by Pebie: New free pattern. Nativity set I: Jesus, Mary and Joseph ✿⊱╮Teresa Restegui http://www.pinterest.com/teretegui/✿⊱╮: In just three months it will be Christmas! It will be here before we know it, so if you are looking for a project you could work on with your grandchildren, consider this pattern I found on Pinterest  for a crocheted Nativity Set. If you have older grandchildren who know how to crochet, or would like to learn to crochet, consider having them help you make this set to give to their parents, their other grandparents, shut-ins, elderly neighbors, their teachers, pastor, the church secretary . . . the list goes on!

You'll find the pattern at this link - you could make just Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus, or fill it in by adding the kings, and "critters"! Plus, it would be fairly simple to take the pattern for Joseph and the kings and add some shepherds, too!

Years ago I crocheted a Nativity Set, but I used Crochet Thread instead of yarn and made the pieces small enough to use as ornaments in my tree - each year they are front and center in my tree. I like having them in my tree, because it helps keep the focus on the reason for the season. Yes, there is fun - and no shortage of lights and decorations and gifts, but it is about Jesus!

So, you have time to work with your grandchildren crocheting Nativity sets - and/or making ornaments . . . what do you think? Is this a project you might try?
