grandma's cookbook . . . Chocolate Peanut-Butter Bars!

When you are looking for a dessert, but only have a short time to prepare it, definitely consider chocolate peanut-butter bars! You could add some fun Christmas sprinkles to give them a "festive" touch.

Ingredients -
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut-butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup oats
  • chocolate chips
Directions -
  • prepare 13x9 pan - spray or grease sides and bottom
  • cream first six ingredients
  • add dry ingredients and mix well
  • spread in prepared pan
  • bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
  • remove from oven and top with chocolate chips
  • turn oven off and set pan back in oven for two minutes
  • remove and using a knife spread chocolate chips over top
  • cut into bars
  • enjoy!
This is a very tasty, easy, and quick dessert! As you involve your grandchildren in helping you make these bars be sure to talk with them about the things happening in their lives. Let them know it is a special, sweet treat for you when they are able to help you bake and thank God for them!
