This Christmas Give the Gift of Prayer with Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children

One of the most powerful things we are able to do for the children we love is for us to pray for them. One even more powerful thing we are able to do for them is to help them learn to be people who pray. This Christmas give a gift which will help you do exactly this - give the children you love ages four through fourteen the book - Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children!

The initial idea I (Lynda Freeman) had for this book was to write a resource to help my grandsons learn to be people who talked with God; so I took the reading schedule from my book; Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Grandparents & Parents, Too! and used it to form the basis for the book for children. I also had my grandsons helped write the prayers and draw most of the images in this book.

Each week's passage in the children's book, matches the passage for the week in the book for grandparents and parents - making it a wonderful resource for families to use to read and pray through the Psalms for a year as children use this book and grandparents and parents us the other. Just imagine what it would be like to do this with the children you love.

Each week's passage in Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children is written into three, age-level "nutshell prayers" . . . one with simple images non-readers will be able to learn and "read", so they are able to pray the Psalms, a simple prayer for beginning readers. and a longer prayer for older children who read well. This is a book which you are truly able to give to your grandchildren/ children ages four through 14. Look what people are saying about it . . .
  • "Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children" is a wonderful, insightful and practical devotional book for loving adults to guide their children or grandchildren through. I love that the author's grandchildren contributed to the art in the book, which will certainly engage young readers. I look forward to guiding my son through this helpful resource.

  • I love this book. One of the best elements is how it is set up on different developmental levels. No matter the age of your child, they will find comfort in the Word of God, because they will be better able to understand the message. 'Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children' is one of the best resources a grandparent, parent or even Bible study teacher will give to a child.

  • I love this joint project created by Lynda and her grandsons! “Praying Through the Psalms for Children” will help grandparents and parents be intentional in prayer and Bible reading with their grandchildren. It is easy to see how this book will enable grandparents and parents to pray more effectively for and with the children they love. As a children's ministry professional, I’m happy to see resources created for grandparents/ parents to help encourage a strong faith in the next generation. Grandparents are the second greatest influence in the lives of their grandchildren; what they do matters. This book is a helpful tool for special time together.

As you use this book with your grandchildren/children, you will be able to help them learn to spend time reading God's Word, and then praying it back to God. Definitely take a serious look at Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children, and seriously consider getting it for the children you love - it is a fantastic Christmas gift for sure.

You will find this book in our bookstore at this link and at Amazon at this link. And, please help me spread the word about this book by sharing this post and telling the grandparents and parents you know about Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children. Thank you!
