I have been writing the past twelve days about Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park special Dale Chihuly exhibit which you are able to enjoy now through November 1st just outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have three more parts of the exhibit to write about - today I thought it would be interesting to share with you some information I found online about Chihuly Chartreuse Icicle Tower at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park -
Chartreuse Icicle Tower is a towering 30-foot glass sculpture created by artist Dale Chihuly. It features more than 1,800 individual handblown glass forms designed to capture and radiate natural and artificial light. Dale says, “I want people to be overwhelmed with light and color in some way they’ve never experienced.”

Chihuly Chartreuse Icicle Tower is located in The Tassell-Wisner-Bottrall English Perennial Garden and it looks like it will be added to the permanent collection of Chihuly Art at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. My husband and I were there one day the end of April when they were installing this piece - we took the photo you can see here. Each of those glass "icicles" had to be installed individually! It was quite the impressive thing to watch as they carefully assembled this piece of art.
If you live near Frederik Meijer Gardens be sure to check out the Chihuly exhibit - the Chihuly Chartreuse Icicle Tower absolutely will give you another reason you will be so glad you do!
