grandma's cookbook . . . Muddy Buddies

Muddy Buddies are a fun treat to make - and eat! Try this recipe - from the Chex website - with your grandchildren . . . it is sure to be a favorite!

9cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2cup peanut butter
1/4cup butter or margarine
1teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2cups powdered sugar
Directions -
  • measure cereal into a large bowl - I use a plastic bowl with lid
  • in a 1 qt bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter and microwave on high for one minute - stir - microwave another 30 seconds if necessary
  • add vanilla, stir
  • pour over cereal, stir to cover cereal with chocolate/peanut butter mixture
  • add powdered sugar, put lid on bowl and shake until cereal is well covered
  • enjoy :^)
This is a great treat to make in the summer as you won't have to heat your home to do so! As you enjoy this tasty treat, ask your grandchildren what "sweet" surprises God has blessed them with. Allow them to share and then lead them in thanking God for His many blessings!
