crafting with grandma . . . Here's Another Square for Your Afghan - the Tall Fans Square!

Five more squares to go and your afghan will be completed! Today's square is from the book, Blue Ribbon Afghans from America's State Fairs and is a simple shell pattern, but will add a fun texture and look to your afghan!


Directions -

    Blue Ribbon Afghans from America's State Fairs: 40 Prize-Winning Crocheted Designs
  • ch 28
  • Row 1: 2 dc in fifth ch from hook, ch 1 2dc in next ch * sk next 3 chs 2 dc in next ch ch 1 2 dc in next ch - shell made; rep from * across to last 2 chs sk next ch dc in last ch
  • Row 2: ch 3 turn work shell in each ch 1 sp across dc in top of turning ch
  • Row 3: ch 3 turn work shell in next shell (in ch 1 sp) * ch 2 sc tightly around sp between shells of last 2 rows ch 2 work shell in next shell rep from * across dc in top of turning ch
  • Row 4-5: ch 3 turn work shell in each shell across dc in top of turning ch
  • rep rows 3 - 5 until square measures approx 9" ending by working either row 4 or 5
