The Final Square for Your Afghan . . . the Simple Fan Block!

If you've been working on the afghan with your grandchildren, this is the final block! Whoo-Hoo! This final block is from the book, 300 Classic Blocks for Crochet Projects and will add a nice texture to your afghan!


Directions -

  • Chain 29
  • Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook * ch 2 skip next 2 ch sc in next ch rep from * across turn
  • Row 2: ch 3 (counts as a dc) dc in first sc * skip next ch-2 space 3 dc in next sc rep from * across ending with 2 dc in last sc turn
  • Row 3: ch 1 sc in first dc * ch 2 skip next 2 dc sc in next dc rep from * across ending with last sc in 3rd ch of turning ch turn
  • repeat rows 2-3 until square measures approx 9"
Hooray! You should now have 25 unique squares and are ready to assemble your afghan! Be sure to talk with your grandchildren and encourage them for sticking with the project and get ready to assemble your afghan!
