Blueberry Pie and Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Perfect Pie Plate with Cardinal Pie Bird - I'm Giving One Away!

I've had a number of give-aways on grandma's cookie jar lately . . . and nearly all of them are for grandchildren. This time, I have something nice for grandma! The Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Perfect Pie Plate with Cardinal Pie Bird!!! I'll get to this in a moment, but first I'd like to share a pie recipe with you!
Ingredients -
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Directions -

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
  2. Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt and sprinkle over blueberries.
  3. Line pie dish with one pie crust. Pour berry mixture into the crust, and dot with butter. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2 - 3/4 inch wide strips, and make lattice top. Crimp and flute edges.
  4. Bake pie on lower shelf of oven for about 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
  5. Enjoy!

So, now for the pie plate! I'm delighted to say Pfaltzgraff sent me one pie plate for review and another to give away! Not only is it a beautiful pie plate, but it includes a 4" bird pie vent which will allow steam to escape and prevent pie overflow while baking! This is a truly beautiful pie plate . . . the only things better than having such a beautiful pie plate are the delicious pies which will be baked in it!
