Praying Babushkas!

I recently read in my Grandmother's Bible a devotion by Joni Eareckson Tada. In it she said, "When Ken and I were in Russia . . . we met many Russian 'babushkas'. The praying grandmothers . . . the stalwart saints of whom Stalin had cruelly said, 'If we can get rid of these old women, we will have the youth in our grasp.' Stalin failed. And thank God for praying grandmothers who served as a link, spanning a generation lost to atheism and connecting a new generation of young people who are asking open, honest questions about Jesus."  Then the prayer for the day, "Father of all ages, as gray hairs abound, may righteousness abound. May I never resent the encroaching years, but view them as an opportunity to deepen my life of praise and intercession."

This world we live in is led by the prince of darkness, Satan and he would love to have our grandchildren in his grasp. Our prayers do make a difference. Make John 3:16 your prayer for each of your grandchildren . . . "God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die." (CEV)  "Dear God, I thank You for loving my grandchild with such a great love You sent Jesus, Your only Son, so when he/she has faith in Jesus he/she will have eternal life and never really die! Please make his/her heart tender and open to You and Your love! Please give him/her a heart which wants to know, love and follow You all his/her life! Thank You, Amen!

Let's be praying babushkas!
