crafting with grandma - Let's Make Love Bugs!

I was browsing on Pinterest the other day and came across a very cute little love bug craft even young grandchildren could enjoy creating, so i decided to share it with you!

Supplies -

  • toilet paper tubes
  • paint - or markers or crayons
  • clear contact paper
  • glitter
  • pipe cleaners - sparkly ones are particularly fun for this project
  • glue
  • markers
  • hole punch
Directions -
  • allow your grandchild to paint - or color - a toilet paper tube
  • determine the size and shape of your wings, cut two from clear contact paper
  • allow your grandchild to sprinkle glitter on the sticky side of one part of the wings
  • carefully match the other part of the wings - sticky sides together
  • punch a hole in the back of the top of the toilet paper tube and put pipe cleaner through - bend to make antenna (you could add beads if you like)
  • glue wings to back of toilet paper tube
  • draw a face on your creation
Talk with your grandchild about his/her love bug and what they can do to show their love to others today. Help your grandchildren make several and go with them to give one to someone who needs to have their day brightened!
