grandma's bookshelf - Puff, the Magic Dragon - I'm Giving one Away!

Do you remember the story and song of Puff, the Magic Dragon? Well, this old dragon is celebrating 50 years - he is just a bit younger than me! Old Puff lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee! I may not know where "Honalee" is, but I do remember the story and song of the dragon named, Puff! So, when I learned of a new board book which tells the story of Puff, I was delighted for the opportunity to review it . . . and to give one away!

Puff, the Magic Dragon
Authors - Peter Yarrow & Lenny Lipton
Paintings by - Eric Puybaret
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 2+

Favorite Features -
  • I really like the paintings which were used to illustrate this story
  • the story is made from the lyrics of the song
  • sturdy board-book will stand up to many years of enjoyment by little hands!
This book shares the story of Puff and little Jackie Paper and beautifully presents it in a board book for a new generation of little ones to enjoy! If you remember the song, sing it instead of reading it! This board book has the same paintings and text as the Sterling Puff, the Magic Dragon Pop-Up book . . . which is beautiful! (After all, what could be better than the classic text of Puff, the Magic Dragon combined with amazing pop-ups?!!)

Just as Puff learned, little girls and boys do not live forever - they grow up. But while they are little, this grandma is very happy to snuggle a young one in her lap and enjoy a book like Puff the Magic Dragon! Make some time to gather your little grandchildren into your lap and enjoy a book together - possibly Puff, the Magic Dragon! As they do what children do - grow up - they and you will have wonderful memories of those time spent snuggling and reading together!

As I mentioned above, not only did Sterling send me a book to review, but they are also making another available for me to give away (USA only)! If you have followed grandma's cookie jar with Google Friend Connect and/or "Follow grandma's cookie jar by email", then you are entered in the drawing which will be on August 28, 2012. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry - please comment to let me know when you share so I can give you your additional entry! Please also follow grandma's cookie jar on facebook if you haven't already with the tab in the box ON THE BLOG which says, "find us on facebook"!
