My grandsons and I have been working on a new book about amazing, unique, and surprising animals, but we are not sure what to name the book. If you would please take a moment to respond to this survey, we would most sincerely appreciate your input! Thank you! (The cover will likely look like this photo - with the name which will best fit!) You will find the survey at this link.

Chocolate Lasagna!

Slices of chocolate lasagna on white plates.A few years ago, for my dad's birthday - which happens to be today - I brought the dessert to our family celebration . . . Chocolate Lasagna - which happens to be one of the best desserts EVER!!! Particularly on a hot, summer day as there is no cooking or baking involved!

So, I thought, just in case you might wonder what "chocolate lasagna" might possibly be, I'd share it with you because you are most likely to want to make one for yourself as well!

Chances are you are wondering about this post . . . what kind of recipe could possibly be called, "chocolate lasagna"? Is it good? It does have "chocolate" in the name, so doesn't this mean it must be tasty? But, chocolate "lasagna"????

Well . . . have no fear!!!! This is a dessert which will leave you heading for the store to get the ingredients, for sure!!! My daughter, Tiffany, posted this recipe on her facebook and when I saw it, I knew I had to share it with you!

Make a Blessings Book

Regardless of our age, if we make the choice to be a thankful person, we are more likely to be stronger and healthier mentally speaking. It is healthy for us to have an "attitude of gratitude"! This is something important for us to practice in our daily lives, and for us to teach the children we love.

When it comes to blessings, we are certainly able to put our children and grandchildren at the top of our blessings list. We know we have much for which to be thankful - especially when we think of them.

Virtual Grand Camp!

Sherry Schumann and Cathy Jacobs are two of our Grandmas with Heart. They are also two grandmas who lead a GrandCamp each year for their church. This year with covid-19, they decided to make this year's GrandCamp a Virtual GrandCamp and open it up to any grandparent, anywhere, so they are able to use it with their grandchildren. Today I am so delighted to share the information you need to make a Virtual GrandCamp part of what you do with your grandchildren this summer!

Happy Children's Day!

Today is Children's Day - yes, this is a real holiday . . . "Children’s Day  observations in the United States predate both Mother’s and Father’s Day. The day to celebrate children dates from the 1860s and earlier. The Methodist Episcopal Church at the Methodist Conference of 1868 recommended the second Sunday in June be observed annually as Children’s Day. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in 1883 designated the 'the second Sabbath in June as Children’s Day'

Chase’s Calendar of Events cites Children’s Sunday and notes The Commonwealth of Massachusetts issues an annual proclamation for the second Sunday in JuneNumerous churches and denominations currently observe the second Sunday in June, including the African Methodist Episcopal Church, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Church of the Nazarene."

The website - nationalchildrensday.us says; "American families and the entire country need this day to love, evaluate, and commit to the betterment of our children." If you are already planning to enjoy the day celebrating the children you love today - go for it! If you have not planned to do anything to celebrate Children's Day, consider the following ideas . . .

One of the most important things we need to do as grandmas (and grandpas/parents, too) is to help the children we love learn to talk with God for themselves. Yes, they need to hear us pray. Yes, they need to know we pray for them. But, if they are going to have a walk of their own with God, they have to learn to be people who talk with God.

So, since Children's Day is just a few dadys away (it is on June 14th) I wanted to make it easy for you to give your grandchildren ages four through fourteen a gift which has the potential to change their lives as it helps them learn to talk with God, and give you the copy for grandparents and parents; so not only are the children you love able to learn to talk with God, but you are able to pray with them for a year - which has the potential to lead to some wonderful conversations all year long!

Next Sunday – June 14th, is Children’s Day . . . yes, it is a real holiday! (If you look it up on Google, it says the USA celebrates Children’s Day on the second Sunday in June – this has been the official date since the 1800’s – I really did not make this holiday up!!!)
