The Little Ginormous, Humongous, Hairy, One-Eyed Monster Boys Adventure and A Family of Her Own for Candy have been available as print books for several months, but today I am happy to let you know both of these books are now also available as Kindle ebooks on Amazon!
So, what are these books about, well, they are both picture books for children to enjoy! A Family of Her Own for Candy tells how last summer my husband, grandsons, and I went to the Humane Society to get a kitten. I wanted my grandsons to go with us because, first of all, they love all animals, secondly I wanted to be sure whatever cat we got was one which was able to be around my grandsons without being aggressive. We spent some time at the Humane Society and finally settled on a very sweet calico - which we named Candy, because she is sweet (and my middle grandson said she reminded him of candy corn.)
I decided to write a story about Candy - part of it I know is true and part of it I'm imagining what it may have been like before Candy became part of our family. A Family of Her Own for Candy is this story, and this storybook is now available on Amazon (you will find it at this link and the Kindle ebook is at this link.) If you know a child who loves kittens, and if you may have a four-legged family member who you may have found at your Humane Society, this is a story they are sure to love!
In The Little Ginormous, Humungous, Hairy, One-Eyed Monsters' Adventures I write about how when my grandsons were young and at my house for a sleepover, we typically made up stories at bedtime. They almost always had monsters or dinosaurs in them. One night when my oldest grandson was six, my middle grandson was three, and my youngest grandson was one, we were getting them into bed when my oldest grandson said he saw a monster under his brother's bed! This was not what my middle grandson wanted to hear, so I said there could not be any monsters under his bed because the monsters were at their poppa's and grandma's house getting ready for bed on their sleepover. My grandsons found this idea very interesting, so of course, our bedtime story for the night had to have little, ginormous, humungous, hairy, one-eyed monster boys getting ready for bed and being scared because they thought they saw, teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, not-so-hairy, two-eyed people boys under their beds!
It was a fun story, so I thought maybe I'd put the story into a book, so maybe one day my grandsons will be able to share it with their grandchildren. It also includes the second little ginormous, humungous, hairy, one-eyed monster boys story which we made up another night at bedtime. In "The Little Ginormous, Humungous, Hairy, One-Eyed Monsters' Adventures", you will find two stories - “There are Teeny, Tiny, Itty, Bitty, Not-so-Hairy, Two-eyed People Children Under My Bed!” where children will identify with the little ginormous, humungous, hairy, one-eyed monsters when they think they see a peculiar, scary, and terrifying teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, not-so-hairy, two-eyed people child under their bed! Of course when grandma monster tells the monster boys there can not be a people child under their bed because the people children are at their grandma's and poppa's house on a sleepover, it opens up an important conversation about how the little monster boys are really very much like the little people children.
In “The Little Ginormous, Humongous, Hairy, One-Eyed Monster Boys & Their Not-So-Peculiar, Scary, or Terrifying Discovery!” the little monster boys discover teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, not-so-hairy, two-eyed people children are moving into a house down the street, so they decide to see for themselves if they are really peculiar, scary, and terrifying - or not.In these books children will discover, along with the little ginormous, humungous, hairy, one-eyed monster boys they are able to make friends with children who may not look like them. Just because they do not look the same, it does not mean they are “peculiar, scary, or terrifying” because we all are very much the same, whether we look alike or not.
