National Donut Day!

Today is National Donuts Day - I do love donuts, but rarely eat them. But, a day to celebrate these wonderful, tasty treats is a great - or tasty idea for sure! So, on this day I thought I'd share some fun information about donuts and a recipe for baked donuts - they have to be better for you than fried donuts, although, certainly not "healthy". So, first for some fun facts - did you know . . .

  • 10 billion – the number of donuts made in the U.S. each year.
  • 10 – the number of people living in America with ‘Donut’ as their surname.
  • 9 – the Guinness World Record for the most powdered donuts eaten in three minutes.
  • 100,000 – the number of donuts churned out by Entenmann’s every hour.
  • 3,660 – the number of donuts it will take to reach the top of the Statue of Liberty.
  • 55 million – the number of donuts it would take to get from Long Beach, California, to Long Island, New York.

You will find more fun donut information at this link.

Okay, today is "Donuts Day", but, since they are not particularly good for me, I rarely eat them. However; with this new recipe, I may start eating them more often - still not a lot, but more often! After all, baked donuts can't be too terribly bad for me . . . can they?

I'm going to try this recipe one day, not sure when as I have been losing weight, but I will try it!

So, what do you think of this recipe? Have you tried it before? Might you try it now? I'd say, "Enjoy!", but what else would one do with donuts???!!! :-)
