Happy Thanksgiving! Today my mom, daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and grands are coming to our house for Thanksgiving dinner! I am preparing turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, veggies, mac & cheese, maple cornbread, and pumpkin pie. My daughters are bringing the yams, cranberries, deviled eggs, and dessert. We will have a tasty dinner together and much for which to be thankful for sure!
After dinner we will put my tree up and then I have a gift for each person who will be here. I know it is not yet Christmas, but I always begin the season with gifts - it is just for the fun of it! Doing this does NOT mean my grands and family are spoiled - we throw away things which are spoiled and I would NEVER throw my loved family away. They are "well-loved" and since I am grandma/mom it is perfectly acceptable for me to show this!
My grands will be spending Saturday night, so they will find a fun treat under the tree - each time they are here between Thanksgiving and Christmas there are special treats under the tree for them - just for the fun of it! When they were little, their "treat" was often Matchbox cars, but now they are treats like homemade muddy buddies, full size candy bars, homemade fudge, etc. Just a small special treat to brighten the day.
