Yesterday I was thinking about when my grands were younger and they spent a lot of time at my house - sleepovers and when their parents were working. Now they are older, so while they still come over nearly every weekend for a sleepover (I am SO blessed!), they do not typically come over in the summer during the days.
I have been thinking about the things which really matter and I absolutely believe spending time with the ones I love is a primary way I am able to show them they are loved. When my grands come over each weekend, I try to fix food I know they will enjoy. I make sure my pantry is stocked with snacks they enjoy (typically fruit, guac & chips, and some candy), and I am intentional about telling them how dearly they are loved.
July my middle grand has a birthday, August is my youngest grandson's birthday, and September is my oldest grand's birthday, so over the coming months there will be much celebrating at this grandma's house! They always get to pick the menu for their birthday dinner, and of course there are presents!
When we show love, we often receive love - this matters as it makes strong, solid, essential memories. You will find a recipe I make for tasty grand - approved brownies at this link - I melted the butter then added ingredients from there and the result was moist, tender, and very tasty brownies.
So, what do you think? Oh, I see! You are heading for your pantry to get the supplies! Enjoy!!!
