grandma's cookbook . . . Muddy Buddies

Muddy Buddies are a fun treat to make - and eat! I've been making them pretty much every weekend for a few weeks because there is someone I love who comes to my house for a sleepover on Saturdays and this person LOVES Muddy Buddies! If you want to make them for someone you love, try this recipe - from the Chex website - with your grandchildren . . . it is sure to be a favorite!

Ingredients -

  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter - or vegan butter substitute for vegan buddies
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions -
  • Measure cereal into a large bowl - I use a plastic bowl with lid
  • In a large bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter then microwave on high for one minute - stir - microwave another 30 seconds if necessary
  • Add vanilla, stir
  • Pour over cereal, stir to cover cereal with chocolate/peanut butter mixture
  • Add powdered sugar, put lid on bowl and shake until cereal is well covered
  • Enjoy :^)
This is a great treat to make so as you enjoy this tasty treat, ask your grandchildren what "sweet" surprises God has blessed them with. Allow them to share and then lead them in thanking God for His many blessings!
