Choose to Seek and Believe the Truth

One of the most important things we will ever do for the children we love is to model for them and to teach what it means to choose to love everyone and to be people who speak and believe the truth. While it may be especially easy to love our children and grandchildren, sometimes we may be surprised to discover we are not actually people who speak and believe the truth because we do not actually seek the real facts so we are able to believe and speak the truth.

But the "antidote" for this is easy - seek the facts so we are able to speak and believe the truth. Far too many people do not do this, but we can - and MUST - make the choice to be people who do, so we are able to model and teach this to the children we love.

One very important place where we must be people who seek the facts is where it applies to Trans people. This may surprise you, but it is absolutely true. There are groups of people in this country who say Trans people are evil, dangerous people. This is not true. Let's look at actual facts. "Emerging scientific evidence suggests a significant part of the biological basis for gender identity is formed in the womb, influenced by prenatal factors like genetics and sex hormone exposure. This theory proposes variations in sex hormones during fetal development may lead to brain structures which align with a person's gender identity rather than their sex assigned at birth." You will find more actual facts at this link and this link.

So, Trans people are Trans because of something which happens in utero during the third trimester. It is not something they chose. Trans people are not evil. Trans people are not dangerous - in fact, since 2018 there have been roughly 4,143 mass shootings - 4,012 of these shooters have been non-transgender males, 127 have been non-transgender females, and four have been transgender people. These are actual facts and the facts do matter.

If you would not hate or condemn a person who was born with physical challenges due to something which happened as they grew in utero - such as cystic fibrosis, downs syndrome, a cleft palate, or one of many other physical challenges, why would you hate or condemn a person who was born with the challenges which come as they developed in utero and result in them being Transgender? It is not something they chose. No one "becomes" Trans because they read a book about a Trans person. No schools are making children "become" Trans. The truth and facts matter - at least they should. Trans people should be loved and accepted just as you would love and accept anyone else. Especially if you are someone who believes in and follows Jesus. He never told us to hate Trans people. He did tell us to love EVERYONE, this clearly includes Trans people.

And, when the president of our country targets these people and threatens to harm them, we should all be more than concerned. We should stand up for Trans people and against those who would harm them.

If we want to make our world a better place for the children we love to grow and live, then we must be people who seek and believe the truth. We must be people who love and accept everyone - especially ANYONE who is born with challenges we may not have faced ourselves.
