The International Day of Awesomeness is actually on March 10th, but I do think every day is a day to celebrate the people in your life and of course they are awesome, so why not make a point to celebrate them today! And as the last year ends and the new year begins, it seems like a perfect time to celebrate for sure. When I first saw this "special" day, I wasn't sure if I'd write about it, but then I saw the following quote on the web page for the day; "No one's perfect, but everyone can be awesome!" and knew I had to write about it!
I thought it would be fun to share some of the information with you which I found on the International Day of Awesomeness' web page . . .
- The International Day of Awesomeness is a celebration of awesomeness. People are awesome every day, frequently don't realize it, and their feats of awesomeness are rarely recognized. We aim to fix this with a special day to both perform and celebrate feats of awesomeness!
- The easiest way to celebrate The International Day of Awesomeness is to be awesome. You could organize a group of your friends to perform feats of awesomeness. You could write a blog entry about someone you think epitomizes the ideals of awesomeness. The International Day of Awesomeness should be fun and not taken too seriously.
- Create our beautiful world - go on a walk together and take photos of some of the awesome things you see which God created. Make a, "God's Awesome Creation" book with your photos and thank God for all He created!
- God's grace and forgiveness - talk with your grandchildren about how amazing and awesome it is for God to give us grace and forgiveness! Make a song to a familiar tune about God's awesome grace and forgiveness!
- God's blessings in your lives - talk about the blessings; big and small which God has given you. Thank Him for your family, friends, home, opportunities to serve others, the gifts and abilities He has given each of you . . . this list could go on and on!
- Draw pictures to take to shut-ins
- Bake cookies for neighbors
- Learn a song and sing it for friends in a nursing home
- Do extra chores to give mom a break
- Make banana bread for their teacher
