Colored Easter Egg Alternatives - Painted Stone Eggs

As I've been writing over the past few days, because eggs were SO expensive, and often difficult to find last year, I wrote other ideas for fun with the children you love besides coloring real eggs. Today I have one more idea for you which would be fun this year whether eggs are more affordable or not - painting stone "eggs"!

This is a simple idea, and won't cost much at all. You could go on a walk to find and gather stones for painting, then take time to decorate them. After they dry, you could hide them in your yard for a stone "egg" hunt, and even hide some at friend's homes and neighbor's homes and then let them know they can go on a surprise stone "egg" hunt, too!
