Please Stand Up & Speak Up - Especially if You are a Mom/Grandma

Okay, well, we all are likely breathing a short breath of relief this morning since our country/supposed president didn't carry though on his war crime threats for the, "whole civilization to die, never to be brought back again." Of course, he could break his "agreement for a two week pause" at any moment, or in two weeks say he is going ahead with his threats - time will tell.

As a mom and grandma I want the world in which those I love are living to be a place where they are safe. I want them to be able to live their lives without the shame of being part of a country which commits war crimes and murders innocent people in other countries. I want them to grow up knowing the difference between treating others with love and acceptance and being people who live this way. It is for these reasons I have to speak up today.

Yesterday I was horrified by the things being said by the massively corrupt, racist, likely pedophile, thief, war criminal who currently occupies the white house. I was angered by the failure of republicans to stand up in masse and call for the impeachment, conviction, and removal of him from office. I will be 65 next month and for 55 of those years I always voted republican. I grew up being taught if you were a Christian, then of course you voted republican.

But then trump came along. I am disgusted to say I voted for him in 2016 - extremely reluctantly, but I did vote for him. However; as I watched what he did and listened to what he said I knew everything about him was the absolute opposite of what I believed about Jesus and I would never vote for him again. In 2020 I voted for Biden - some supposed christians I knew told me it was "immoral" for me to vote for Biden. I told them I disagreed and voted for Biden. I voted for Harris in 2024. I will never vote republican again. I taught the children I love to do as Jesus said and to love ALL others, so how can I vote for people who speak and do the opposite?

After the past few days in particular, I believe it is essential for all of us - especially if we are moms/grandmas - to stand up and speak up. We must contact all of our elected officials and tell them to stand up and speak up as well. Tell them we want those in the House to impeach trump NOW. Tell those in the Senate we want them to convict trump NOW, so he can be removed from office before he says and does anything more to make us a country where we commit war crimes. This has to happen NOW.
