crafting with grandma . . . Sock Monster Puppet!!

I found a tutorial for making the cutest sock monster puppet on Pinterest several years ago . . . it would certainly make a fun Children's Day gift (which is on June 14th) - or the supplies so the children you love can make their own! Just follow the link and you'll find a tutorial with five simple steps to make your own "monster" . . . it is a great idea for all those extra socks when the dryer "eats" one and you are left with miss-matched socks!

I have made several sock puppets with my grands when they were younger - one memorable one was a dragon-pig (a pig puppet, but my grand said it was a dragon-pig!) which they named, "Little, Little Do" and we made up stories about thes dragon-pig - Little, Little Do's dad was a dragon and his mom was a pig so of course, Little, Little Do had to be a dragon-pig! Little, Little Do loved to eat cinnamon toast and scrambled eggs and he loved to play hide-and-seek!

Have fun making your puppets and as you do talk with your grandchildren about the choices they make as they design their "monsters". How many eyes did they give their "monster"? Did they give it any "hair", "spots", "zig-zags" or "spikes"? Be sure to take photos - which them makes the Children's Day sock puppet a gift for you, too!
