"There are a LOT of 'Fives' in How Old You are, Grandma."

Eleven years ago, on this day, my then six year old grandson told me . . . "There are a LOT of 'fives' in how old you are, grandma. Not that I'm saying you are old!!!" Apparently they were working on counting by fives at school.   Remembering this put a huge smile on my face today, so I had to share it with you!

Don't you just love it when your grandchildren learn something new and how to "apply" it to their real lives? This sweet grand is now driving - yes, real cars! How did this happen so fast?

Our grands do this. They grow up - much, much faster than we thought they would. It seems like only yesterday they were catching fireflies in my yard, discovering "pirate" treasure in the sandbox (their poppa and I buried cars, squirt guns, etc. in the sandbox which our grands had SO much fun discovering!), building with legos, playing water-balloon piñata, (fill a balloon with water and fasten it to a branch or swing set, blindfold the grand, give them a stick and let them break the water balloon piñata! This is a lot of fun in the summer for sure!) 

Time does fly, so make your time count. Build memories with your grands, spend time together, read books, laugh together - before you know it, they will be grown. And remember those things they said when they were little - they will continue to bring a smile to your face and fill your heart with joy - especially when they are true, as there are a lot of fives in how old I was - and am now, for sure!
