If visiting the only area in the world protected from the mountain top to the sea floor sounds like something you would enjoy doing, then a visit to Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve off the Northern coast of British Columbia, Canada, is absolutely the place you want to go! Today I am very happy to let you know about this truly unique and amazing place!
- Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve is often called, "Canada's Galapagos"!
- I covers over 1,500 square kilometers of land as well as 3,400 square kilometers of ocean.
- The name Gwaii Haana translates to "Islands of Beauty" in the Haida language.
- Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve contains monumental cedar poles and ancient longhouse ruins at five archeological sites—including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of SG̱ang Gwaay (Anthony Island).
