"Ruby Froggy Feet & Striped Antlers" is a vibrant, organic outdoor glass art installation by renowned artist Dale Chihuly. It is featured in the major outdoor and indoor exhibition currently on display at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Location and Setting
- Placement: Located outdoors in Vickie’s Garden, positioned directly between the American Horse sculpture and the Amphitheater.
- Neighbors: Displayed right next to another vivid installation titled Mottled Trumpet Flowers & Plum Feathers.
- Access: Included with general admission to the park, which runs through November 1, 2026.
Artistic Elements
- Ruby Froggy Feet: Distinctive, hand-blown bright red glass elements shaped with webbed, organic textures reminiscent of amphibian limbs.
- Striped Antlers: Linear, horn-like blown glass forms featuring bold contrasting stripes that stretch and curve into the garden landscape.
The Ruby Froggy Feet & Striped Antlers are another of my favorite parts of the Chihuly exhibit - I love the deep reds, the unique "froggy feet tops/toes, and I love where they put them - with the Turquoise Reeds by the little waterfall in Vickie's Garden. The reds stand out in the very best way possible - and if you line your photo up just right, you will be able to see the American Horse and get it in your photo, too!
If you live near Frederik Meijer Gardens, or are able to visit before November 1, 2026, be sure to check out the Chihuly exhibit - the Ruby Froggy Feet & Striped Antlers give you another reason you will be so glad you do!
