CHIHULY Turquoise and Erbium Flori at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

If you are blessed to live in or near Grand Rapids, Michigan, which is where Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is located, then you know this is a place where there are so many beautiful and amazing things to see all year long, but this is even more true now through November 1st as the Dale Chihuly exhibit is able to be enjoyed throughout the Sculpture Park. I thought it would be interesting to share with you some information I found online about the beautiful sculptures and a bit of background on each piece - today I'm happy to give you a closer look at CHIHULY Turquoise and Erbium Flori at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park . . .

"Turquoise and Erbium Fiori" is a large-scale blown glass installation by renowned artist Dale Chihuly. It features vibrant floral-like ("fiori") forms in striking turquoise and pinkish-erbium hues.
Artwork Overview
  • Artist: Dale Chihuly
  • Medium: Hand-blown glass
  • Dimensions: Approximately 6½ × 17½ × 6 feet (varies by specific installation site)
  • Significance: Part of Chihuly’s organic, free-flowing Fiori series, which utilizes massed color and grand scale to transform natural and garden landscapes.
Exhibitions
  • Current Display: Featured in the major 2026 exhibition at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, running through November 1, 2026.
  • Past Locations: Previously installed in outdoor and indoor contexts such as the Chihuly exhibition at the Biltmore Estate.

The CHIHULY Turquoise and Erbium Flori is another of my personal favorite pieces - this one has such pretty color and the shapes are so interesting. I especially love the location by the Zig-Zag bridge in the Japanese Garden - there couldn't be a better place for it!

If you live near Frederik Meijer Gardens, or are able to visit before November 1, 2026, be sure to check out the Chihuly exhibit - the CHIHULY Turquoise and Erbium Flori absolutely will give you another reason you will be so glad you do!
