I learned on-line, "The global event invites both first-time tandem jumpers and experienced skydivers to celebrate the sport and participate in world-record attempts for the most skydives made in a single day." The World Skydiving Day website says in 2024 30,351 people skydived on World Skydiving Day, last year 26,718 people skydived. Today is World Skydiving Day, so they are hoping to set a record for the number of people who skydived on one day -
"YOU can be a part of World Skydiving Day and attempt to break the world record for most reported skydives in a day. First-time tandem students and experienced skydivers can participate! To celebrate the fantastic sport of skydiving, we are going to set a WORLD SKYDIVING DAY RECORD.
This collaboration, which started with four of the largest skydiving associations in the world, will be historic - and we want YOU to be part of it!"
Sounds like so much fun! So here are the basics . . .
- Who can participate? Anyone who has an interest in making a skydive! If you have never jumped before, we recommend a tandem skydive for first timers. If you are a licensed skydiver, we encourage you to head to your favorite skydiving center and make a few jumps which will count towards the WORLD SKYDIVING DAY RECORD.
- Where can someone participate? Everywhere! There are hundreds of skydiving centers all over the world. Visit our locations page to find one near you! If you are the owner of a skydiving center and you want to participate, please fill out this form.
- How can someone participate? Make a skydive on July 11th, 2026. Submit proof of your skydive on this website and be counted in the World Skydiving Day Record. This includes tandem skydives, as well as jumps made by licensed skydivers. Anyone who participates can order a certificate to show they were part of a WORLD SKYDIVING DAY!
- When can someone participate? On WORLD SKYDIVING DAY of course! The third annual celebration is JULY 11th, 2026, and will repeat each year on the second Saturday in July.
