Happy Children's Day!

  

Yes, today is Children's Day! I'm a huge fan of this day; and so are my grands! Last year my youngest grand told me he was talking about Children's Day at school and most of his friends had never heard of it before! My  grands say they are so glad their grandma celebrates Children's Day!

Summer Reading - Created "Just Right" - Look What Lives in Africa!

If we surround the children we love with books which will capture their attention, they will speak sooner, develop a larger vocabulary, learn to read sooner, do better at school, and will want to read all the time. Yesterday I wrote about one such book - Created "Just Right" - Look What Lives in Asia!, and today I want to let you know about another book in the series which will absolutely capture the attention of the children you love - Created "Just Right" - Look What Lives in Africa! This is a picture book filled with full-color photos - two of each animal, and some interesting, fun facts about each one as well.

Water-Wars for Children's Day Fun!

Tomorrow is Children's Day, so, what might the children you love want to do if it is a warm, sunny day and they are at your house? 

Play in the water! And, not just play in the water, but use squirt guns if you have them.

National Donut Day!

Today is National Donuts Day - I do love donuts, but rarely eat them. But, a day to celebrate these wonderful, tasty treats is a great - or tasty idea for sure! So, on this day I thought I'd share some fun information about donuts and a recipe for baked donuts - they have to be better for you than fried donuts, although, certainly not "healthy". As I shared over the past couple weeks, during covid my grands and I wrote 12 books about animals, so earlier this year I took the animals from these books and put together a series for young children (although everyone loves picture books about animals, so all ages will enjoy them!) Today I am happy to let you know about the book - "Look What Lives in the Americas & Europe".  This is a picture book filled with full-color photos - two of each animal, and some interesting, fun facts about each one as well.

One More Pair Eyewear Topper - the Black Holographic Flakes!

Yesterday I wrote about one of my new toppers for my Pair Eyewear glasses - the Pride Party Dots topper - which I absolutely LOVE! Today I am very happy to let you know about my other new topper - the Black Holographic Flakes! Pair Eyewear says, "This shiny black Top features iridescent flakes scattered throughout." and I say it is an absolutely beautiful topper! The black shimmers and the holographic flakes add pops of color with every move of your head - what isn't there to LOVE about this wonderful topper! I am SO happy to add it to my collection.

Summer Reading - Created 'Just Right! Look What Lives in Australia & New Zealand

During COVID my grands and I put together the twelve books in the  Life on the Goldilocks Planet series which help us see how animals show us God is real because He made everything "just right". In these books (which I have shared with you over the past couple weeks), you find full-color photos, fun facts, along with crafts, science projects, and recipes for the entire family to enjoy as they learn about the animals and discover how they help them have a confident faith. These books (The Life on the Goldilocks Planet series) are ideal for children ages four through fourteen - and the entire family.

But, since younger children enjoy picture books, I took animals from these books and combined them into six picture books which show animals and include just a couple of the fun facts for each animal to make books for younger children ages three through seven. These new books - "Created 'Just Right!'" are now available in both print and kindle ebook formats!  

More Pair Eyewear - Another New Topper!

This past January when I had to get new glasses, I decided to try Pair Eyewear. This line of glasses was designed to have magnetic top frames which you are able to change out for an entirely new look and style - it is SUCH a fantastic idea! It is like getting an entirely new pair of glasses for only $25 or $30 - the cost of a new topper. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Pair Eyewear!

did you know - Grasshopper Mice!

Living from southern Canada, through the desert of Southwest United States and into Mexico is a very amazing,   “mighty”, mouse – the Grasshopper Mouse. These mice remind me of Nehemiah 9:6 – You are the Lord, You alone. You have made heaven, the earth and all that is on it; and You preserve all of them. 

God made everything on Earth, including Grasshopper Mice so let’s see what we are able to learn about them . . .

·  When you think about animals which are ferocious predators, you typically do not picture tiny mice . . . but after reading this, you will!

Summer Fun . . . Ice Eggs!

I found an idea on  Pinterest which sounds like so much fun for the a hot summer day . . . Ice Eggs! So . . . what, you ask, are ice eggs? Well, they are "eggs" you make with water in balloons which you then freeze! What might you possibly do with ice eggs, you also ask? Well . . . apparently there are lots of things you can do with ice eggs . . . including playing games such as "ice bowling" and you can freeze "surprises" in them for your grandchildren to discover!

did you know - Helmeted Hornbills!

In a small area of Thailand and Indonesia, you may discover a unique, odd-looking bird – the Helmeted Hornbill, and when I think about it, I remember Job 12:10 –

“In his hand is the life of every living thing.”

The Earth is full of the creatures God made; some of them are quite unexpected; like the Helmeted Hornbill. Let’s take a closer look at this bird . . .

grandma's cookbook - Chocolate & Peanut Butter Bugles!

As I browsed on  Pinterest the other day, I saw a recipe which looked like something grandchildren would love to make . . . and eat! I thought it might make a fun treat to fix on a rainy day in the summer . . . It could also be the perfect snack to make with your grandchildren when they have a sleep-over at your house! The snack? Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bugles!
