just as grandma's cookie jar should always be full of good things, this blog will be full of good ideas, information, activities and reviews of things to help grandma . . . and grandpa, mom and dad too . . . pass on a heritage of faith to the children in their lives!
When it comes to Halloween, I have always felt a bit of a dilemma. As a child it was harmless. I dressed up as princess, a Japanese girl in a kimono, etc . . . simple costumes with no focus on gore or evil. My siblings and I trick-or-treated to the neighbors' homes on our street and always felt like we really "scored" with our buckets of candy! After all, it was really all about the candy!!!
My grands enjoy cookies, but one of their favorites is chocolate chip, peanut butter cookies. When they were younger it was not unusual for them to go straight to the cookie jar when they arrived at my house - which was typically followed with very happy smiles on their faces!
I'm very happy to share a new book with you which will make a difference in the lives of the children you love. Are you one of the grandmas (or grandpas) who are so blessed to have grown children who love and walk with God, and who are committed to hand down confident faith with you to the children you all love? Do your grandchildren want to go to church, want to talk about their walk with God, and embrace a confident faith of their own? Or, do you have grown children who, like so many their age, are no longer involved in church, who do not embrace a confident faith of their own, and/or grandchildren who tell you they are, "not into that church thing any more"?
Since October is Cookie Month, I thought I'd share another cookie recipe with you today. I saw this recipe on Pinterest so today is a the day to share it with you! I love how this is a fairly simple recipe and it is one the children you love will have fun helping you make - I'm sure they will love putting the peanut-butter cups in the cookies! (Of course, they are very likely to sample a few peanut-butter cups as well!)

Who knew there were so many months which celebrated specific foods???!!! Well, if any food is to be celebrated, popcorn should definitely be on the list! I LOVE popcorn! Popped, caramel, it really doesn't matter, I LOVE popcorn!

Today during Cookie Month I am remembering how one day when my grands were younger and they were at my house I made cookies for them - they decided my "grandma super power" was making cookies! They decided I have this "grandma super power" and if they had to choose between a grandma with the super power of running fast or making cookies, they would definitely choose making cookies! Plus, my youngest grandson said he wished he could live on just eating my cookies!

Fall is upon us and it is time for chili - chili cook-offs, chili dinners, chili get-togethers - anything and everything chili!
